Toyin is a young  hot  makeup artist on the rise  who  has made  the day extra special for many brides  or expectant mommies doing their pregnancy photo-shoots.  She has worked with celebrities like Bambino , Stacious and well as R&B singer songwriter Jazmine Sullivan.

Another young Jamaica on the rise in the fashion industry.

BTW she does house calls so if you are going out on a date or a special event give her call.

Rain or Snow .... Water Boots Anyone

 

Yesterday I woke up to what could only be described as a torrential  down pour  and I did  what any normal Jamaican would  do … I went to the back of my closet looking for the sneakers   the  ones you don’t wear so often  and those jeans  you don’t care too much if the foot (hem) gets  wet. … well

while I was  looking for my sneakers   I came across   my  Elijio UGG  boots.  I looked at them and
though  I have worn these  boots for a total of 6 weeks  between 2008 and 2010 ( only worn when I      travel in  the winter) and I though to myself  some wellies would have been  a much better investments .

  

What are wellies   you might ask? Well  they are  better know in Jamaica as  water boots . Don’t be scared I am not referring to the black ones worn by pig farmers fret not these boots have gone designer and rather trendy. 

It rains in Jamaica what 4-5 months a year … no more with the  sneakers  and  the roll up pants foot or the old rubber flip flops  and invest in a pair of  water boots.

Stylist and Makeup Artist T'rone

Are you one of those people who just look at clothes on a rack no matter how unique “ugly” everyone thinks it is and just know how to make it beautiful?  Can you go into your closet and make a completely trendy outfit out of clothes you have hanging there from last year or two years .Can you create the perfect face using a little help from MAC or Rimmel If you answer yes   to any of these questions then you probably are a natural stylist.

Being a Stylist is quite a lucrative career in the States and other parts of the world just look at Rachel Zoe who dresses the likes of Nicole Richie, Cameron Diaz and Mischa Barton or Jeff Ihenando dons the bodies of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Mel B, Sadie Frost and Rohn Padmore who styles the famous and infamous Madonna.  

Becoming a  Stylist  is  also a growing career field in Jamaica  and T’rone Buchanan  is one young stylist taking advantage of  this. He has been styling for the local talent show Raising Stars for the past couple of years, he has styled and done makeup for commercials and personal photo shoots. He has worked with stars like Natalie Storm and D’Angel and has a growing clientele.
